Royal Academician Anthony Green is best known for his dream-like autobiographical paintings which are often irregularly shaped with three-dimensional elements. Green’s subject matter is often humorous as well as poignant and intimate. Whilst his compositions are figurative, Green plays with perspective and angles to create surreal scenarios and altered viewpoints. The artist and his wife often feature in his work, meaning that the pictures, over time, have formed an idiosyncratic diary of their life together. In the limited edition prints that he has made with Kip Gresham, Green has combined digital techniques with screenprinting to produce images that have luminous colour and a hyper-real quality.
Green’s work is held in numerous notable public collections including Tate. He lives and works in Cambridgeshire.
