Fiona Thomas is an artist and printmaker whose abstract works are heavily influenced by her environment with nature, landscape and architecture referenced across her work. Alongside the medium of paint, printmaking – in particular monoprinting – allows Thomas to explore mark-making, texture and colour palettes.
In 2007, Thomas produced two screenprints with Kip Gresham in his studio. 'Segovia Aqueduct I' and 'Segovia Aqueduct II' reference the Roman landmark located in central Spain. The impressionistic palette and highly textured marks running vertically and horizontally across the prints evoke the same effects seen in the artist’s monoprints and mimic the texture of stone, the lines of the horizon and the movement of water.
The artist lives and works in Cambridge.
